The Biden administration has been more speedily uniting unaccompanied migrant children with adult sponsors, after a spring influx that reached record levels. Yet more than 16,200 children remain in Department of Health and Human Services custody, the agency reported yesterday – a figure that’s still 50 percent higher than levels in mid-March. And some of the kids have no sponsors at all.
