Being a kinship guardian for two sisters who came to us after being taken away from their drug-addicted parents has been both a deeply rewarding and challenging experience. It involves stepping into a parental role to provide stability, love, and support during a critical time in their lives. As a guardian, I am responsible for ensuring their emotional, educational, and social well-being while helping them heal from the trauma of their past. This role requires a delicate balance of care, patience, and advocacy, as I work to create a nurturing environment where they can thrive and reach their full potential.
