NY: Federal court recognizes all foster children as one class (Includes video)

Spectrum News – August 27, 2024

In a legal victory for a group challenging the city’s foster care system, a federal court judge has ruled that 19 children, can proceed as one class representing all of the children in the New York City’s foster care system which amounts to about 7,000 children. Judge Kimba Wood issued the ruling after the Court of Appeals reversed her ruling, denying the “one class certification” in the case almost a year ago.
