Passaic County CASA has broadened its reach to help abused and neglected youth in a larger portion of the state. The nonprofit based on Hamburg Turnpike expanded its operation about 25 miles south to Union County to ensure that services there are provided “under CASA standards,” said Gretchen Boger-O’Bryan, the content director of the new organization, CASA of Passaic and Union Counties. CASA – short for Court Appointed Special Advocates – recruits, trains and supervises volunteers to support youth up to age 21 who are removed from home to live in foster care.
