NJ: N.J. nonprofit site crashes after Reddit comment floods it with donations

One Simple Wish, the Trenton-based nonprofit that grants wishes to young people across the country who are impacted by foster care, was seeing so much traffic Gletow couldn’t keep up. She and her team finally found the source: someone wrote a comment on Reddit, answering the prompt, “What is something you’ve done purely out of the goodness of your heart, but have never told anyone?” Reddit user “dartdoug” wrote about contributing to an 11-year-old child’s birthday gift-a bike his foster family couldn’t afford to buy. “For less than $200 I paid for the kid’s new bike,” he wrote, including both One Simple Wish’s name and a link to its website.
