Adolescents who have been abused – either recently or when they were children – have special therapeutic needs that have long been neglected in the literature.  Exacerbating the problem, members of this challenging population often provoke fear resentment, anger, and general istrust among adults, including professionals, which can interfere with optimal clinical interaction.
