Listening To Fear
Helping KIDS COPE, from NGHTMARES to the NIGHTLY NEWS
Studies before and after 9/11 indicate that too many children today not only experience their worlds as unsafe but pay the price for their uncertainty and fear in symptoms that interfere with learning, relating, and feeling. For some, sleeping, eating and toilet habits are disrupted; for others, worries emerge as complaints about aches and pains. For children and adults alike, concerns about sudden death, loss physical danger, and loss of control leave us feeling vulnerable. At these times we may find it particularly difficult to concentrate.
