Children respond differently to abuse.  Some children are compliant, passive and eager to receive appropriate care and attention.  Other children, however, seem to resist nurturing care, and display a number of difficult behaviors.  This booklet offer insights and tips on how to understand and respond to problematic behaviors in children.  Definitions of child abuse are provided, as well as basic information about why parents abuse their children, why some children are singled out for abuse, how children react and behave when they are victims of abuse, and how they view being placed in foster care.
