PA: Local lawmaker wants to ensure vulnerable students can overcome hurdles to graduation (Includes video)
WFMZ – February 15, 2021
Some of Pennsylvania’s most vulnerable students are falling behind to no fault of their own, due to inconsistent graduation requirements across school districts. Districts have their own standards for graduation and sometimes don’t accept credits from other schools. That can negatively impact students who are in the juvenile justice system, foster care system, or who become homeless. Pa. Sen. Pat Browne, (R)16th District, is expected to re-introduce the Fostering a Smooth Transition for Graduation legislation this week.
